Joey Coulter and his fellow NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) competitors embarked on new territory for the 10th race of the Truck Series season Wednesday night. For the first time in series history, NASCAR’s third-tier division made a stop at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for the Inaugural Mudsummer Classic – one of the most anticipated races in series history. The historic event – which consisted of a 30-truck starting field and unique qualifying and race procedures - was one for the history books. After 150 laps, which consisted of three segments, Coulter was able to use his dirt-track racing experience to strategically battle his way through traffic and ultimately out duel his Truck Series competitors at the famed .5-mile clay oval. Coulter’s No. 18 Darrell Gwynn Foundation Toyota Tundra will go down in the history books as finishing fourth in the inaugural event - the highest finishing Truck Series regular.

In his second attempt this year with the No. 54 Monster Energy team, Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Joey Coulter and the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) NASCAR Nationwide Series Camry maintained their Owner’s Points lead with a 14th-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet on Sunday. For NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular, Coulter, it was his fourth start in the Nationwide Series and the second of three times he’ll take over the seat of the black and green machine this year. His final start with the JGR group will come later this summer at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta for the second 2013 Nationwide Series event.

A familiar name will return over the door of the Monster Energy Camry this weekend, that of a young driver tackling the 1.5-mile D-shaped, tri-oval of Chicagoland (Ill.) Speedway in Joliet, for the first time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) driver Joey Coulter will have the wheel of the No. 54 Toyota on Sunday with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) in the STP 300 event. It will be the second of three Nationwide Series races this season in which Coulter is supporting the JGR/KBM Monster Energy program, initially at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway and again September 21 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta. Coulter’s Alabama run was strong, where he led three times and was within the top-10 in the final laps of the event, however, a late-race accident relegated the No. 54 team to a 21st-place finish.

Joey Coulter, driver of the No. 18 Darrell Gwynn Foundation Toyota Tundra, and his Kyle Busch Motorsports team made big gains in Saturday night’s American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway, harvesting his first top-10 results since his eighth-place finish at Dover (Del.) International Speedway in May. The strong run was Coulter’s third top-10 finish in four starts at Iowa Speedway and the team’s third top-10 finish of the 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.

Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) has 20 Truck Series victories since making its debut in 2010, however, Iowa Speedway is one of nine tracks on the 2013 schedule that the young organization has not yet conquered. Joey Coulter and his No. 18 Darrell Gwynn Foundation team hope to change that stat in this weekend’s American Ethanol 200 presented by Enogen at Iowa Speedway. Although the team has had their share of heartaches in the first eight races of the season, Coulter feels as though the team is focused and has what it takes to make a little noise in the remaining 14 races - starting with this weekend’s first of two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event’s in the Hawkeye State.
