Coulter Solid at Screven Motor Speedway

5/6/2015 Coulter Solid at Screven Motor Speedway

Charlotte, NC (May 6, 2015) - When the checkered flag fell on Saturday night at Screven Motor Speedway, Joey "CIV" Coulter added yet another tally mark to his top ten column in dirt racing. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series veteran brought his Darrell Gwynn Foundation/Uncle Jim's Carolina Jerky Rum Runner Racing Chevrolet Super Late Model home sixth.

This was CIV's first race back with the Carolina Clash Series since the April 4th event at Volunteer Speedway. He sat at sixth and eighth on the speed charts during both practice sessions on Saturday night. CIV qualified ninth fastest.

He fell back to tenth when the green flag fell on the 40 lap feature event. After the first caution period, CIV advanced to ninth place before a red flag fell for a serious accident. Once racing got back underway, CIV began his charge through the field.

When the field restarted on lap 15, CIV restarted in the eighth position. With 12 laps to go, he restarted eighth and jumped to sixth where he took the checkered flag.

"I am really proud of everyone at Rum Runner Racing. We had a really quick turnaround from our race last weekend, and there was a lot of repairs that needed to be made. The team got the car looking and driving great. Screven threw a few curveballs at us but in the end we were able to end the night with a solid finish. I am looking forward to Cherokee next weekend; it's another track on the Clash schedule that I have not raced at yet," said CIV.

This coming weekend CIV will head to Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC with the Carolina Clash Series. Racing starts at approximately 7 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m.
