No. 21 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Silverado

This Week's GMS Racing’s Chevrolet Silverado at Michigan International Speedway ... Joey Coulter will pilot Chassis No. 022 in Saturday’s Careers for Veterans 200 at Michigan International Speedway. The Jeff Stankiewicz-led team has unloaded this chassis four times previously this season, at Kansas Speedway, Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, and at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway. On August 2 at Pocono, the GMS Racing prepared chassis qualified 11th and finished in third position. This particular Chevrolet Silverado was previously a Richard Childress Racing Chassis, which Coulter drove to victory lane for his first series win at Pocono Raceway in 2012.

Coulter the in Irish Hills ... Although this weekend marks Coulter's first Michigan International Speedway appearance with GMS Racing, the Miami Springs, Fla., driver has made three other NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at the 2-mile D-shaped oval. He earned a career-best seventh-place finish at the track in August 2012. He has earned one pole award and one top-10 finish, with an average starting position of 10.0 and an average finishing position of 13.0. This is also the site of his career first pole award with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2012. Additionally, Coulter has four ARCA Racing Series starts at the track, where he never finished outside of the top ten. He holds the ARCA Racing Series track record.

The paint scheme was inspired by the Allegiant airline fleet’s scheme. With low-low fares, nonstop flights, all-jet service and premier travel partners, Allegiant provides a complete travel experience with great value without all the hassle.

Travel is Our Deal … Where does Allegiant fly? Local Allegiant destinations from Michigan International Speedway:  Flying from Toledo, Ohio / Detroit, Mich. (TOL) (54 miles) to Orlando / Sanford, Fla. (SFB),  Tampa Bay Area, Fla. (PIE) and Punta Gorda, Fla. (PGD) or from Lansing, Mich. (LAN) (62 miles) to Orlando / Sanford, Fla. (SFB).

In the Rearview Mirror: Pocono Raceway ... Joey Coulter and the No. 21 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet team finished third in the Pocono Mountains 150 on August 2 at Pocono Raceway, scoring his third top-five result this season. Following a series of late-race caution flags, Coulter rallied from sixth on the final restart to finish third, and posted his fourth top-10 finish in four races at the “Tricky Triangle.”

Joey Coulter Quote:

“The first thing that comes to mind about Michigan International Speedway is how great a track it has become for the fans as well as the drivers. Track president Roger Curtis and his staff are some of the most proactive people in the sport at attracting and pleasing fans. For the drivers, there isn't a faster track on the schedule that we go to all year, and on top of that there is a ton of room to race. I fully expect to be racing two and three wide most of Saturday. I think our Allegiant Travel team’s chances this weekend are great. This is the same truck from Pocono (Raceway) and Michigan that we ran in 2012 and the truck from Pocono this year. I am very excited about the momentum that GMS Racing is carrying right now.”
