Coulter Scores Two Top-10s Over Holiday Weekend9/9/2015
Huntersville, N.C. (September 9, 2015) - Joey "CIV" Coulter returned to the seat of his Rum Runner Racing Crate and Super Late Model this past weekend. The former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series winner scored two top-10 finishes, one being a top-five. On Sunday, he set fast time and broke the track record at Cherokee Speedway (S.C.), driving the No. 2 Rum Runner Racing Crate Late Model.
CIV and his No. 2 Rum Runner Racing team had a jam-packed Labor Day weekend. On Saturday evening, they headed to the Lancaster Speedway (S.C.). He qualified a solid seventh and when the green flag dropped, he quickly began working his way to the front. Before getting stuck in the wrong lane towards the end of the race, CIV cracked the top-five, running as high as fourth. Ultimately, he finished seventh and headed to towards Cherokee Speedway (S.C.). On Sunday, the Rum Runner Racing team led by Harold Holly unloaded two cars, a Crate Late Model and a Super Late Model. CIV set fast time and broke the track record, running an impressive 16.268. He ran up front all race long and went on to finish fourth. The No. 2 Rum Runner Racing Super Late Model was in action as well with CIV behind the wheel. He qualified eighth and ran inside the top-10 the entire race. He went on to finish ninth.
"We had a solid weekend with our Rum Runner Racing Late Models," CIV said. "You can never complain about three top-10 efforts in one weekend. With that being said, I do feel like we got robbed on the initial start of the Crate race on Sunday. That's racing, though; things don't always go the way we would like them to go."
A win at Cherokee Speedway (S.C.) and now a fast-time award at the speedway highlight the 2015 season for CIV and his team. For more information about CIV and Rum Runner Racing, you can follow CIV on Twitter and "like" him on Facebook. You also visit his website.
