Joey Coulter No. 18 Freightliner Toyota Preview
Kentucky 300 at Kentucky Speedway

No. 18 Freightliner Toyota News & Notes:

• FIRST TIME AT KENTUCKY: This is the first time Joey Coulter will make a NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta.

• THIRD TIMES A CHARM: This will mark Coulter’s third Nationwide Series start for JGR in 2013. Both previous starts were behind the wheel of the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota. His first start came at Talladega Superspeedway where he started 10th and led three laps before being caught in a late-race accident and finished 21st.  Coulter made his second start at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill. where he qualified 15th and held steady just outside the top 10 throughout the race, before finishing 15th.

• NO STRANGER TO KENTUCKY: Although this will be Coulter’s first Nationwide Series start at Kentucky Speedway, he is not a complete stranger to the 1.5-mile oval, having made five career starts in Sparta, KY in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. In fact, Coulter appears to enjoy the track having earned a pole, one top-five and three top-ten finishes in his five starts.

From the Cockpit:
JOEY COULTER: “I’m excited for the opportunity to get back in one of the Joe Gibbs Racing Nationwide cars this weekend at Kentucky. I learned a lot from Adam (Stevens, crew chief) when I was in the 54 at Talladega and Chicago earlier this year and I’m looking forward to that continued growth with Matt (Lucas) and the 18 team this weekend. JGR has had some success throughout the year with Matt (Kenseth) in that car and I hope to put what I learned from the first two races together and produce solid results in the third one for everyone at JGR and most importantly Freightliner.”
