Rum Runner Racing State of the Season I

7/3/2016 Rum Runner Racing State of the Season I

July 3rd, 2016 Troutman, NC- With around half of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series Season in the books, Joey Coulter and Rum Runner Racing have learned a lot. Their season started off great with top 15 finished both night at the Screven Raceway park. The team than traveled down to Coulter’s home state of Florida, to compete in the 3-night World of Outlaw event at Volusia Speedway. The team struggled the first two nights before making the feature on the final night.
After a short break, the team reset under the leadership of Harold Holly. Farmer City, IL was the next stop where the team made the feature both nights and earned some valuable laps. As the races rolled on, the team has experienced success, failure, and all of the growing pains of being a new team. Through all of the adversity, the team has kept their heads held high and kept their sights on the long term goal.
The program has come a long way since the season opener in February. Just this past week, Coulter and the team earned their 1st top 5 finish in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, finishing 4th at the Rockford Speedway in IL. “It was a fantastic night” said Coulter. “The track got really rough but Harold and the crew gave me a car that could run through it pretty good.” With this momentum to move forward, the team is heading out to Iowa for a few nights, then Minnesota, and North Dakota, before returning home for a week off.
“We couldn’t be happier with our progress so far this year. Joey and Harold have worked extremely hard to learn how the new XR-1 Rockets work, and that hard work is showing now.” -Susan Coulter-
