No. 21 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Silverado

This Week's GMS Racing’s Chevrolet Silverado at Eldora Speedway ... Joey Coulter will pilot Chassis No. 008 in the 1-800-CarCash Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway. This Chevrolet Silverado attempted a race during the 2013 season, but Wednesday will mark the chassis’ first laps in 2014 for the Jeff Stankiewicz-led team. Acquired in 2013 for the GMS Racing fleet, Chassis No. 008 previously spent time at Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM).

Coulter, Eldora Speedway Rewind ... Last year for the first time in series history, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series made a stop at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. After 150 laps, which consisted of three segments, Coulter was able to use his dirt-track racing experience to strategically battle his way through traffic after qualifying in 11th-place and ultimately finishing fourth in the inaugural event - the highest finish in the race for a Truck Series regular.

Down and dirty in the dirt ... Coulter’s background in racing revolved around asphalt tracks until he began his dirt late model career just a few short years ago. The Miami Springs, Fla., native made decision to compete on dirt before last year’s NASCAR Camping World Truck schedule was put together with Eldora Speedway. He captured his first career dirt Late Model victory at Volunteer Speedway in 2012. Most recently, on Saturday, June 28, Coulter came from fifth place on the high-side to win Main #2 for the CrateUsa/FASTRAK Racing Series Late Model Series at 311 Motor Speedway with Wolf-Pack Racing.

Come Fly with Me ... The No. 21 Chevrolet Silverado team will sport the black, blue and yellow colors this Wednesday at Eldora Speedway, with Allegiant Travel adorning the hood and quarter panels. With low-low fares, nonstop, all-jet service and premier travel partners, Allegiant provides a complete travel experience with great value and without all the hassle.

Travel is Our Deal … Where does Allegiant fly? Local Allegiant destinations from Eldora Speedway include:  Flying from Fort Wayne, Ind. (FWA) (75 miles) to Myrtle Beach, S.C. (MYR), Phoenix / Mesa, Ariz. (AZA), Orlando / Sanford, Fla. (SFB),  Tampa Bay Area, Fla. (PIE) and Punta Gorda, Fla. (PGD) or flying from Toledo, Ohio / Detroit, Mich. (TOL) (120 miles) to Orlando / Sanford, Fla. (SFB),  Tampa Bay Area, Fla. (PIE) and Punta Gorda, Fla. (PGD).

In the Rearview Mirror: Iowa Speedway ... Joey Coulter collected a fourth-place finish in the American Ethanol 200 presented by Enogen at Iowa Speedway, earning his second top-five finish in nine NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) starts this season. Coulter scored the ninth-fastest time in qualifying and immediately showed the speed of the Allegiant Travel Chevrolet from the beginning of the 200-lap affair.

Joey Coulter Quote:

“Eldora Speedway is a wildcard in every sense of the phrase. Even though most of the teams participated in the event last year, there is still a lot that can and will probably change for this year’s race. One of the most fun things about racing on dirt for me is that you never know what the track is going to be like until you get there. Last year, Eldora Speedway was hard packed, slick, and a little dusty. There is a good chance that those conditions will be different this year.”

“Coming off of our good run at Iowa Speedway we are carrying a lot of momentum into this race and the whole No. 21 Allegiant Travel team is looking forward to having a ton of fun on the dirt.”
